Katsu Surprise

Today is the day! We ate at Yabu: House of Katsu for the first time today! We went there before 12 so there are still a few people there. I ordered a Chicken and Seafood set while Ray ordered a something katsu. I can't remember the name. Ha-ha!

The waiters were accommodating, they demonstrated the Yabu ritual for the sauce. Too bad for Ray, the waiter did it with his ritual set so he didn't experience how to the the ritual from the beginning. Ha-ha! He even asked me to let him do it in mine so he can feel he's doing it. LOL. The food came fast and it was overwhelming. The servings were large! So we ate our heart out to our contentment.

As we finished eating, we were given suggestion cards to fill up. I told them that everything was fine except for the scallop which was kind of fishy (malansa). When we're ready to go, one of the managers approached us regarding what I wrote. I told them the same thing I put on the paper and I said it's okay, it's not a big deal. Yet, it was a huge thing for them even the store owner went to our table asking for an apology for my dissatisfaction. I wasn't that unhappy, it was just that piece of seafood. I really loved everything about it except for that. Yet he insisted to give back our money. I panicked and we explained to him that everything was okay. He gave in and gave us a gift certificate instead with a never-ending apology.

When we left, we still can't recover with what happened. Even after we met up with the two pin button buyers, what happened in Yabu is still stuck in our minds. I can't believe what just happened and at the same time impressed with the dedication of the manager in his craft. I wish that my sister, Apol, who was supposed to be with us today, will work like that man.

The day went by normally. I bought some clothes and Ray bought shoes. I paid my liabilities and here I am once again, broke. Ha-ha! Life, life, life!
